Clint always seemed to be squinting in his close-ups, making me wonder if he didn't need glasses or the director had a vicious streak and always shot him facing the sun. I guess his wearing glasses in those Westerns would have been a bit off-putting. Of course, this character is that 'character's' anti-thesis. He doesn't carry any weaponry, save for his brain. For many, that suffices. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art, still watching old movies and playing out his final scenes here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Clint's squinting, I thought may have been to "suss" another persons character or the situation. Either way , Clint movies are great ! Have a good weekend, Charles : )

Artist Reply: I read somewhere that he's always had a sensitivity to bright light and the best filming days are bright sunny days. Interpretation is everything, I think, in art as it is in life. Both are interchangeable and, for the most part, indistinguishable. I recently watched "A Fist Full Of Dollars" and "For A Few Dollars More." And, of course, I've seen every movie he's starred in many times, Dave. He was one of my dad's favorites. :)
