World Horse Day. To honour the significant contributions of horses to human society. As a species, horses have suffered and endured so much trauma. They have experienced the horrors of battles in war over centuries, served alongside police and royal guards, put to work in farming, and as transportaion. They have suffered in horseracing, breeding, circuses. They have been victims of cruelty, neglect, and slaughter. They are sentient beings as are all animals, born with a divine right to be treated with love, kindness, and respect.
