This is another 90's drawing, this time using what looks to be a nib pen and India ink. It is on the back of a scrap of acid-free matboard and measures roughly 2 by 3.75 inches. Original Jones Art wonders if this is really our last stage here in northwest Austin, Texas.

For larvas only?

Artist Reply: You mean larvae, John? Biologically speaking, it is an immature form of a species which is very different from the adult form. Symbolically speaking, you might read a bit of Kafka., The Metamorphosis, One might call larvae the consumers as they are the eating/developmental stage. Wouldn't it be nice if we were to develop into something beyond voracious consumers? Hope all is well with you and yours. :)

Cool mustache on this pupa, soon to be a chrysalis , Charles. Also effective cross hatching : ) Another gem from the nineties !

Artist Reply: I thought it was worth uploading since, like all the earlier work, it is similar yet different. Just a little thing though, Dave. Hope all is going well to the north. Down here, we are beginning to feel 'back to normal' which is also, in a way, 'back to the future.' Uh, in a less car-driven sense. :)
