The background reminded me of either Chess or Checkers, so the title is a play on words, you might say. This is a 5 by 3 inches gel pen with Crayola purple and gray on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art doesn't play board games or card-related games but manages to keep himself entertained in northwest Austin, Texas. I suppose you could call it a variation on Solitaire---uh, without the cards,.

Yes, chess may get really boring as long as the only opponent is yourself, for you always can guess the next opponent's move:)))

Artist Reply: Very true, Nikolay. I find it interesting that we continue to play the same games, in the card and board variety, that we've played for generations. I also remember Yahoo and Monopoly as 'newer' iterations, growing up. Of course, the young probably play computer games without much thought to Checkers or Chess. Or Dominoes for that matter. Hope all is well. :)

Like the black and white with hints of color, Charles , but the face does seem kind of bored ...very expressive still : ) Quite the chilly beginning of Spring here ... I like it. Hope you have a nice Saturday !

Artist Reply: I thought I'd do a variation on the monochromatic look, Dave. Honestly, looking at the piece itself, the color hardly shows. Yes, we've had a 'cool front' also along with the welcome rain. :)
