somebody's mother

From a photo by Ernst Haas, this is another monochrome experiment. I've cropped the image so you don't see the person to whom the mother is showing the photo of her missing son. I wanted a sense that the viewer could be passing this woman, perhaps she's just shown you the photo, and you look back over your shoulder as you walk on. I wanted to convey the helplessness and desparation of the mother of a young man whose gone to war.

This is the work that should be shown nation wide. Especially now with everything that is going on in our nation.

powerful work Geri, I dig how the viewer is an active, willing or unwilling participant
