I mean REALLY talk for the purpose of communicating something beyond the usual inanities. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art, still attempting communication beyond the banal, in northwest Austin, Texas.

WE CAN REALLY TALK. QUESTION, WHY DO YOU DRAW THE SAME POOR GUY WITH MAYBE A LITTLE DIFFERENT COLORS AND SLIGHT POSITION? JUST WONDERING ??

Artist Reply: Well, my images are not all alike, Joanie, though some could be described as similar. In the same way that humans are similar yet different from one another. You could say my 'characters' represent the Everyman, an ordinary or typical human being. I could go on, but that's the general gist. Thanks for asking and I hope you are staying warm. :)

Someone might ask, so what's in your craw ? : ) I like this drawing particularly the cross hatching on the side of his face .

Artist Reply: I worked at a retirement residence many years ago and one learned never to ask this one question to a resident. It was "How are you doing today?" You would get a blow-by-blow account of everything on their minds that would last for some time. But everyone needs to vent and so I'd ask one occasionally. Thanks for commenting, Dave. You may notice that I vent a little all the time so the stuff doesn't get backed up. It's healthier. Hope you are doing okay today. :)
