The Man with the Golden Gun

My version of the novel's cover. When Ian Fleming wrote this novel he was dying. The cancer was taking over more of his body and he was, I hate to be blunt, wasting away. But he didnt let this deter him. His own sense of mortality was portrayed in this book since Bond was sent on a mission deemed too difficult to survive. 007 was ordered to dispatch a KGB assassin who is considered to be the best marksman in the world. Unlike the movie, the actual Golden Gun was a high caliber revolver and not all gold. Seeking revolvers that best fit the villain's personality I found it on a vintage gun site. I also found an appropiate human shaped bullseye as you can see. For the bullet holes, I went through various clip art sites. Since Scaramanga (the KGB gunman) was a violent sadist as well being wholly accurate, I decided to have 5 bullet holes on the target to represent his love of making his enemies suffer before delivering the death blow. Hence the shots in the upper chest area and one in the head.
