"JON GNAGY #2" It was 50 years ago, December 1971, during Christmas break that I met and spoke with Jon Gnagy for the second and final time at the Welch's Carriage Inn in Idyllwild, CA. Gnagy graciously came to the inn from his cozy cabin to demonstrate a color pastel sketch. He asked for subject matter to sketch, and I blurted out a log cabin and pine trees. It was at this time that Gnagy discussed a new color television program that he was developing. He asked me if I wanted to be on the show and of course, you know my answer. Unfortunately, the show never materialized. The photo used for the sketch is one taken from the Getty Images website. The picture on the easel is from the cover of his highly popular landscapes book, volume 2. This illustration can be found in the book, "Jon Gnagy - America's Art Teacher" by Charles M. Province here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QFC5JB9?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860 You may read passages from this book at the Jon Gnagy Historical Society here: http://pattonhq.com/Gnagy.html
