That's my sweetest Freya girl who passed away July 2016.. She is deeply missed but I am so glad to have Christina's portrait of her hanging on my wall. - Nat Hrynuik -

Bev Chudey 26 Jan 2006

Wow!!!! This is beautiful. Never worked on scratch board, is it very difficult?

Artist Reply: Personally - I think it is actually one of the easiest mediums to get great detail out of without having to have incredible talent... if that makes sense! :) You simply have to have the patience to scratch each stroke out with a knife... :) E-mail me if you have any questions, I can give you a bit of a tutorial if you are interested in trying it! :)

Lene Daugaard 25 Mar 2005

I don't know what scratchboard is, but this drawing is beautiful

Artist Reply: Scratchboard is a fine layer of white clay, coated in an even finer layer of black ink. It is scratched off with an X-acto knife - reverse drawing... you are revealing the white with each stroke. Fun, detailed, and a lot of work! :)

Penny Myers 23 Mar 2005

I like this. The black background makes the dog stand out. You did a great job on the fur
