"CITY: drug king sells death"...(c.) 2006 ;2020. This work is from my series titled CITY. The series consists of a group of collages--each composed of portions of my original drawings and paintings. They are then combined in various new orders of composition, then scanned and color augmented to form a new work. This work is revisited from ELTON'S ART TIME VAULT. I need not explain the work as the title tells the entire grim picture..But here is some information you may not have been told...Way back in the early years of our democracy, the United States sent a schooner to China bearing a shipload of Opium.. The authorities in China, dumped the entire load into the sea...proclaiming it would lead to addiction and could destroy their people, You may be shocked to learn what our response was to the Chinese high moral stance...We did not applaude their desire to protect the future of their people and their country. No sir we did not appreciate them wasting our opium.. We sent additional schooner loads back to China and with it a United States gun boat to assure the cargo would be accepted, unloaded safely, and the coffers of the U.S. merchants would be filled to overflow... ....So is it not ironic that now the tables have turned,,,and it is our people that have succumbed to the evils of drugs..That which we dished out returned to us in abundance. Now our cup is running over with the wages of our sin. Today our prayer should be a petition to All Mighty God to forgive us, and restore our land. A-men and A-men!
