The original little sketch was slightly simpler and I immediately saw the potential for a 3D piece. Then I thought about the 'why' of the drawing. Why I drew the figure inside an enclosure. Then it struck me that it was because I was having to stay inside an enclosure. Everyone keeps saying the worst is yet to come. Are these the usual doomsayers or are 'things' going to do downhill from here? In this world of tainted news and distorted truth, are we really getting the facts? Do we have an adequate overview going in and will a lot of us have ANY view coming out the other side? This is a 6 by 4.25 inch gel pen drawing with color gel pen on medium bond acid-free paper. This is Original Jones Art as he ponders an always uncertain future and the fate of the world in his less than secure bunker in northwest Austin, Texas.

Quite a conceptual feat and an excellent presentation in three colors! Stay safe and well!

A very whimsical handling of a dire subject!

Artist Reply: Folks have sometimes characterized my work as whimsical which means playful or fanciful, among other things. Honestly, I'm never more serious than when I'm working on something---anything, including ART per se. Do you know that capricious is a synonym for whimsical? The definition of capricious is 'given to sudden and unaccountable changes of mood or behavior.' Does my work look 'presidential' to you? ;) Honestly, John, I'm sure you meant it as a compliment. But I'm an old wordsmith and couldn't help myself. I hope you are well and doing great art today, BTW. :)

BEAUTIFUL...I LIKE...

Artist Reply: Thank you, Maria! It is based on a tiny sketch I did without thinking---that's the way I like to work as the result is usually truer and stripped to the bare essentials. That way folks can bring to it what they have and deduce what they will. I hope you are doing great today. :)
