This is sort of an experimental painting and should be viewed as such. I thought that since I love drawing so much that I should try to incorporate drawing into my paintings. I bought a bunch of squeeze bottles designed for condiments---like catsup or mustard and the like---and using acrylic paint drew the initial figure onto the canvas and worked from there. I tried to use the squeeze bottles rather than the brush though I found the brush came in handy at times. This is a 16 by 12 inches acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas and an experimental example of Original Jones Art as he confounds those who say 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks.' ;)

Love this piece Charles. I did the same thing- except I used no brushes, and applied heavy paint right out of the tubes onto the stretch canvas...and yes I used oil paint..and then the problem materialized. I sold the piece and my client was anxious for me to ship the painting to him in another state===but it would not dry...days turned unto weeks and weeks...and a couple of months...finally I was required by the client to box it and ship it wet to him...Moral of story don't use oil for this process....Even worse, I painted a series using a tar based tree paint--it took over three years to dry.Ginger Olansen 07 Apr 2020
I find this piece very interesting, striking unusual color, but they really work well together. Wonderful work.Maria Anna Machado 06 Mar 2020
