EndTheStereotype

Who said ladies in burqas can’t have a fun personality? They’re just as beautiful as any girl in this world. We often perceive that women in burqa’s carry rigid and strict personalities, that they don’t know anything about having fun or aren’t as open as, supposedly, our “society” is. Our society happens to judge them because they chose to shun themselves out from most of the worldly affairs in hopes for a better afterlife. Something we often forget to think about too. -The background is inspired by a motif called the Palm Leaf motif, which is famously found stitched in Chikankari Fabric. Chikankari (embroidery work) believed to have been introduced by Nur Jehan, the wife of Mughal emperor Jahangir. Initially, Chikan began as a type of white-on-white (or whitework) embroidery.
