I love your hometown series!

Artist Reply: Dear Brenda, Thank you Very much. This is my home town as it was when the US Government owned it. It looks like this no more. However the Prado homes have not been sold; the Panamanian government kept them and they are now offices. This civilization was like no other EVER in the world. And now it is gone. So my paintings are documents of its existence and how it looked. The US Government owned and ran Everything on the Panama Canal Zone. And you had to work for the US Go Er meant to live there. We needed no passports. We just came and went to the US and though we were US citizens, we could not vote. Our Governor was appointed by the US President for 4 years, the President’s 4 years. We did not/could not vote for our Governor. There were many many things that were unique to the Panama Canal Zone. Thank You! Thank You! Hugs, Sharon
