There is no specific source of the Tarn, several rills comming togheter on the Causse Méjan are forming on a distance this river in France, well known of his spectacular canyon. Image size: 260 x 360 mm

good bridge. what's the purpose of the little toad stool looking thing at the left abutment?

Artist Reply: Thanks James, I think that tood stool thing, like you called it so plastic, is a buttress, builded later than the bridge. The natural stone is from a different type than those of the bridge. Those kind of bridges are centuries old and had to support a lot. I saw it myself that small rills became dangerous mass of water in less than an hour by the frequently occuring thunderstorms in this area.
