Castle-farmhouse

In our neighbourhood there are still a few old castle-farmhouses. In the old days they belong to prosperous farmers who owned a lot of ground arround. Notice the old taxus and conifers arround the house, a status-symbol in those days, an ordenary farmer not even thought to do this. Now this buildings are in ruin or rebuild as stately country-houses. Image size: 260 x 360 mm

Always interesting to read the history of your subjects; fine work as ever.

Artist Reply: Thanks Brenda, but it is cynical that since many years, the inhabitant of this building is the big boss of Eternit. The factory so well known for the asbestos-poisoning of so many people, remember the hundreds of victims in Bopal (India)

TERRIFIC WORK MY FRIEND. CRAZY FARMERS AT THAT TIME. GUESS THEY HAD TO SHOW OFF AT HOW IMPORTANT THEY WERE.

Artist Reply: Thanks Joanie. Crazy farmers ... yes but, since many years, the inhabitant of this building is the big boss of Eternit. The factory so well known for the asbestos-poisoning of so many people, remember the hundreds of victims in Bopal (India)
