Warrior & Horse

Seven years into Chinese Brush Painting (1999)and my 1st year as a member of the Yuan Chapter of American Artists of Chinese Brush Painting, this painting won 1st Place in their annual competition, from the honorable judge Huo Zhong Sheng. This work appears to be pen and ink, perhaps not. Nevertheless, without any distraction, it conveys the wild furry of a supposed Mongolian warrior taming a horse. The horse a very important element in Mongolian society. It is man against beast not to harm but to become supreme over. The horse clearly being more powerful but the warrior having the greater need. This work displays power and natural emotion. Glenn Garrison ~
