A tale with a happy ending took place very close to my dad's old home in deep east Texas. On Memorial Day, I literally went down memory lane and captured images of a spotted fawn nursing in the shade and then, after much waiting and demonstration by the doe, teetering on wobbly legs up the embankment and finally, crossing the blacktop road to disappear into dense woods. It was only seconds before a vehicle came down the same road and I breathed a sigh of relief. A video would have been nice but I will post part of the 27 images taken during this five-minute-long saga.
