A very lucky capture of stick insects that would have remained unseen except for movement. There are two walkingsticks on the locust sapling in the lower image. Found beside Sandy Point Road at Hagerman NWR, Sherman, Texas

My grandfather was always pointing them out to me when I was maybe twelve. We have preying mantiss in our back yard all summer. I had not seen a walking stick since walking with my grandfather in the wood near his home.

OH WOW, BRENDA! LOVE WALKING STICKS. WE HAD THEM IN PANAMA. AND IN THE LOWER PHOTO THE PODS ARE FILLED WITH HOT BEANS, AS WE CALLED THEM. YOU RUB ONE ON A SIDE WALK & THEN PUT IT ON SOMEONE'S ARM.
