This pen/ink work is the title page of a graphic novel I began in 2009. It focuses on cigarette smoking, and follows a young man through college into adulthood and his ultimate diagnosis of lung cancer. Please follow along with me in Hink's journey and maybe you can help me find the appropriate way to continue his story so that all can learn from it.

An excellent piece of work and a very important subject to address. Keep on writing and sketching, Will.

Artist Reply: Mark: thanks for your nice comments. I have not worked on this graphic novel for quite some time now. Mainly, because I can't figure out how to end it. Maybe he will die of lung cancer, but I need to decide how to make a positive outcome from his death. I haven't gotten there and I have moved on to the more colorful style of art that I now do. Perhaps one day an appropriate ending will slip into my mind and be transferred to paper! Best regards, Will

This and your other graphic work about smoking is very important and meaningful. I admire your work tremendously.

Artist Reply: Anne: thank you for taking time to view this work. It is greatly appreciated. I have quite a number of pages completed, but have yet to finish the work. I just don't quite know how to end it other than a completely dark, sad story. I want it to be educational, as well as, a way to lead someone who has lung cancer through their health journey. I want to help them be familiar with what they will go through regarding tests and treatment. It will always be scary for a patient, but I want to make it less so by helping them go through this right along with Hink. I suppose that I'll stumble upon an appropriate ending eventually. Again, best regards, Will
