Uss Ernest G Small South Pacific 1962

On a 30 X 50 300 weight cold-press paper, I complied and drew the 1959 ti 1960' ships profile( it was changed in 1961) Then ground the Realgar minerals on top of the Azurite oxide so you could take viewers through the clods till you saw the Blue sky above. It received the largest donation of any of my award winning works.

I'm not sure what you did here Dave. ... it sounds like a lot of work. Interesting effect... has that south east asia feel.

Beautiful work

Artist Reply: Heloisa, I am glad you enjoyed my mineral work of the ship I was on from 1961 to 1966. Two of those years were in support of the troops and South Vietnam. In the two years we were in home ported in Japan. We only got to see our families four months. The ship was out fitted with the latest ECM gear latest electronics, and Radar's including a 30 long distance and height radar, that carriers had, So where the carriers went you would find us . Thanks again I really enjoyed doing this work. Scotty
