I hadn't done a pure color gel pen drawing in awhile and since someone gave me a 'new' set, I thought I'd give it a go. Image area is roughly 4 by 7 inches on acid-free paper. Original Jones Art coloring outside of the lines in Austin, Texas.

I used to illustrate with watercolors, but except for a plien air outing I have not used any of them in years.

Artist Reply: Sorry I hadn't replied to this comment before now, Stanley. I used color gel pens which is a different animal than watercolor. Because it goes on liquid and then dries pretty quickly, it's difficult to anything very large with them. But that being said, they are the closest thing I've found to painting without brushes. :)
