Eastern wahoo, Euonymous atropurpureus, also commonly called burningbush is a member of the bittersweet family. The dangling capsules hold berries that turn red later in Autumn. Another name for the bush is spindle tree, an apt name for this tall bush as the ones I found in dense underbrush were very spindly. Elm Fork Nature Preserve, Carrollton, Dallas County, Texas

The leaves appear to be similar but smaller than an orange tree leaf.
