Artist comment: "This pastel painting was done on Arches 140# hot pressed watercolor paper. The smooth texture allowed me to render minute detail as well as being able to blend color to indicate rounded forms with ease. I began with a sketch of the subject. First I painted the entire sky, blending the blues from top to bottom. Next I did the grays on wings and body. The whites of wings and its head and beak were next, followed by the shadow on one wing. Finally I put in its legs and feet; checked it for overall balance and signed it.”

Edition length is 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs). Prints on paper are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are shrink wrapped on fome board.
