I thought I'd lost this set of photos. As I recall, it was the first and last Dusk Alley Festival held August 23, 1981 in Austin, TX. Behind me you see several acrylic paintings of a more abstract style than I do nowadays. I had been drawing forever; I had been painting (seriously) for less than two years. :)

Artist Reply: I was 29, Ray. I was going to change the world. About the best I can say at 70 is I've more or less held my ground. Happy New Year!

great art work from a young hippie artist in big A...shades of the past....a revelation ...

Artist Reply: Yep. And every day I seem further and further away from that idealist. Well, maybe there IS a small portion of him still here, Elton. :) Thanks!

This is gregg D. ....you look like your about getting into serious surrealism....and with likeable characters and images in your work....your workspace has a lot of wonderful appeal .....to anyone who enjoys creating....and being creative,.....you want everything in reach. :0)

Don't take them down, Charles, otherwise your art will be off the wall :)

Artist Reply: I'm thinking they were 'off the wall' before I put them 'on the wall,' Helmut, but thanks. :)

I really love the abstract paintings Charles!! Your are extremely talented!!

Artist Reply: Thank you, Dawson-Lynn, I think the same of you, BTW. :) Those painting are long since gone though. Some were destroyed by a storm and some carried off into the night.
