The Sakitama Burial Mounds of Saitama, Japan are located in a historic site and the tumuli here date back to 1,400 years ago or more. The highest is 19 metres high. This one here was made in the peculiar keyhole shape that some of the tumuli exhibit. Within the tumuli numerous artifacts have been unearthed. On this autumn day I was attracted to the simple geometry of the mound and its reflection in the surrounding moat. A little white cloud in the right location added a final touch.
