This is an interesting image. Much imagination shown. Very well drawn. Balance very good. The variables in gray and black are expertly done.

Artist Reply: Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comments because those are the areas that I really work hard to achieve. I'm happy somebody thinks that way about this piece. :)

I really like the line quiality and tonal variations through out the composition. the perspective and depth are very well laid out. I do think you loose some of the details on the creature where the earth sits.

Artist Reply: Hey, thanks for your comments! The more detail in the creature's tail but most of them can't be seen in this small preview. I have a larger upload here: http://jrldorado.deviantart.com/art/Bakunawa-The-Filipino-Dragon-298473522 And I wrote a short write up about the Bakunawa there too. :)

It doesn't look very benevolent, does it? Is that the moon in it's mouth, Jerald? Your digital work doesn't look 'digital' to me, and that's a compliment from an old-school artist. ;)

Artist Reply: Thank you for your comments, Charles. :) Yes, that is the moon in its mouth! Bakunawa is a moon-eater according to Philippine mythology which explains lunar eclipses to ancient Filipinos.
