Extraordinary painting or one of my favorite subjects, elephants. They are such caring animals who for years have been abused and neglected by the cruelty of people who misuse these sentient animals in circuses and killing them for their ivory reflecting man's greed and self-absorbed consumption. There is a fantastic elephant sanctuary in Tennessee that I contribute to. After 26 years of abusive circus life, Jenny was reunited with her mother, the staff not knowing their relationship. They recognized each other immediately and wrapped their trunks around each other with amazing emotion at the reunion. I think this is beautiful. You captured the texture and feel of their skin very well. I love the contrast in the wrinkles of the mother's face.
