Your in-laws are very lucky to have such a wonderful artist in the family. This painting reminds me of my grandmothers beautiful porcelain box collection. She had a gorgeous one that portrayed a winter scene similar, but not as wonderful as this. I remember looking at it every time we visited her. The box came from Norway. Beautiful, Joan!

Artist Reply: Thank you, John. Both Van Etten Creek paintings are special to me because the scene was on my in laws property. The winter scene belongs to my mother in law, and the summer one was sold right off the wall in my home. A neighbor came to my house and asked to buy it. lol

Artist Reply: Thanks, Joanie. It was cold. I took a bunch of photos to use for reference so I could paint it in the comfort of my house. lol I also did a painting of the summer view, but sold that one.
