Taken from a photo circa 1980 of a line of people waiting for just a bowl of rice. The childs belly so distended and his little body distorted from lack of proper foods. And i asked myself, why.... Watercolour

Very evocative. The women in the background seem to avert their eyes from the inevitable future.

So haunting, I do hope that young boy is now a healthy young man, but the third world is a hard place to grow up, and all too often they grow up hating us. :(

Gut wrenching realities of our world...

THIS COULD BE AN IMAGE OF TODAY. THE WORLD HAS NOT CHANGED, SADLY. MOVING PORTRAIT OF EXTREME HUNGER. ALSO, AMERICAN HUNGER GOES UNNOTICED BECAUSE THE PEOPLE TOO POOR TO EAT NUTRITIOUS FOOD HAVE TO FILL THEIR BELLIES WITH FATTY CHEAP FOOD. THIS IS ALSO HUNGER. BUT WE CALL IT FAT. ALTHOUGH, SOME PEOPLE DO EAT TOO MUCH OF THE GOOD FOOD ALSO. BUT THE REAL POOR WHO ARE FAT CAN BE SEEN BY A KEEN EYE. YOU HAVE SUCH AN EYE.
