Mythic Hitch

I have this thing about starting ideas and getting into them and realizing that I might just be entirely over my head, but grind on through and somehow manage to get to the other side. This piece was mostly referenced from a photo my husband took at Arizona's first Draft Show coming three years ago. I say mostly because I was not going to add spots to the harness, nor overchecks, plus it was two guys in the wagon and the lead horse didn't have his ears nice and forward. Needless to say this took a lot longer than I initially intended, but I think I learned quite a bit from the beast. Part of me really wants to do a bit 18X24" or larger traditional media piece of one of these hitches now ... the other part of me wants to keel over. Approximately 3500x2400 pixels using Pastel tools in Painter X on "woodgrain" paper texture (much cooler than slapping a texture on after the fact). In the lead we have Nordland, (driver's) left wheeler is Grace, and Macht is the right wheeler.
