oh yes, just like a walking green stick..so nice..:)

Artist Reply: I was surprised to see them for a while. Sticks just don't normally walk around so much out in the open. Then he just crawled underneath the bird bath to sleep!

WHAT FANTASTIC PHOTOS OF THE WALKING STICK, MARSHA. WE HAD THESE IN PANAMA IN BROWN AND GREEN AND A BUG THAT LOOKED JUST LIKE A LEAF. I REMEMBER, AS A CHILD, BEING FASCINATED WITH THEM.

Artist Reply: I remember leaf plants; they are so amazing. The walking sticks here are both brown & green. This one was smaller than the ones I usually see & much greener. He didn't see any need to run from me, which I appreciated.

These insects are absolutely incredible !!! They made of hiding their major ability !!! But you caught them with your camera !! Great shot !!!

Artist Reply: They get on my bird bath quite often; I suspect for drinking purposes and it really doesn't bother them when I take pics. I guess they can tell I'm not going to bother them. Perhaps they've heard rumors that I'm the nutcase who drove the black widow spider, along with her eggs, to safety out in the country!

My pic of the day!

Artist Reply: Wow, Emily, thanks so much for the POD! It is so appreciated! When I first started posting on AW I tended to get less comments on my bugs than I did on florals & animals. I thought maybe AW wasn't the market for insects. But now I'm starting to get more on them, so maybe....
