Well I just love the good old summertime. Nice warm weather – not too much rain. Though I am told Los Niñas or is it Niños have switched positions this season so we’re in for some hot dry weather – hot b/c it’s dry. Rain would mediate the heat this summer and there would be cooler temps in the Heart of Texas once more. Last year Texas had numerous days that only neared the ninety degree mark. This summer temps have kicked the shizle out of the thermometer – and that makes a nice change. Oh, and that’s Fahrenheit – for you metric users that’s Tuesday March 19th, 2031 degrees – Ha! ~:0) Anyway, hot and dry as it was I still ventured out into the Texas Hill-country turned North and hours and hours and hours later – still in Texas – I was in what is know in the region as West Texas. Yeah, this is a part of the state that the mundanes believe all Texas to resemble b/c of Hollywood’s influence on their lives. True – West Texas is a bit desertified – but it’s nice if you like a landscape like Southern New Mexico – so what’s the beef ~:0) Back to the non-stop-action – so I sees this fueling stop ahead and pulls in with the Viper puffing on fumes only to discover the place was something out of a retro-nuclear-devastation flick. Loved it! Reminded me so much of home back at the sheep-station – so decided to have a nice pic-nik right there while we waited for AAA (that’s Triple A) to bring us out some gazoline – that’s what you get for trekking the dry out-back without Jerry-Cans. I couldn’t find anyplace to mount ‘em on this ride and they were not riding inside that’s a certainty. Now for the details everyone wants to know – How it was shot! I like to carry a Canon G11 – more than enough pixels, nice lens and weighs less than a bottle of the fourecks – Ha! Since I was shooting straight into the sun – that’s why there’s such a parade of lens-flare in the pix – 1/1000, f8 (fill-flash), iso 80 and a nice 10mm lens setting. Now remember, I have developed a technique I like to refer to as “Induced Memory” in me fotos. That’s where I jazzes ‘em up to the level that they are in my memory of the place or event. So in this photo I had to dial the ol’ Chas Magic up to dangerous levels that left me five-year-old mac-mini groaning for more memory Ha! So I’m guessing this photograph could be considered manipulated what with the Photomatix Pro and Photoshop involvement. I simply find it difficult to achieve that memory thing with common photography – guess that’s b/c of all that radiation when I was there at Trinity – that was fun!!! and Loud!!! ~:0) VivaChas!
