Statue of Hope

pastel. I wish you could see this live. It's just not crisp enough here. I'm very satisfied with this one! This statue belongs to the town library in Hopedale, Massachusetts, US. I once lived there. The statue is a fountain and was originally used as a drinking fountain until the State Board of Health outlawed shared drinking glasses. The statue was sculpted by the American sculptor Waldo Story in Rome of Carrara marble.

Very good image. I like especially the shades on the statue (colors and so). Good perspective as well.

Gorgeous colors and technique! I love how you worked so many lively colors into what would otherwise be drab stone!
