great concept,very well done.

Artist Reply: Thank you. I used the reflective nature of a window and a mirror to achieve this effect.

Very insightful! I love the reflection; so expressive!

great idea of the picture in picture. Very original and unique work, Karen!

Artist Reply: I'm glad you like it. I had a window between myself and the mirror I used to photograph myself. I tried to duplicate the effect and had to try a couple of times before my effort to duplicate the effect succeeded.

that's very creative work..feel like thinking of old days behind..wonderful..

Artist Reply: Thank you. I feel special nostalgia for the time when I took this photograph. I was enjoying the job that got me established as an independent self-supporting adult. I was using the SLR Ricoh I had to take this photo. I was fascinated with the special effect I had acheived.

Very interesting work...recycling old images.

Artist Reply: I'm glad you like it. I actually took this photograph just outside of a barbershop, using their wall-to-wall mirror and the window that stood between me and the mirror to acheive the special effect.

Artist Reply: I'm glad you like it. I've always been fascinated with optics.
Artist Reply: Thank you. It's one of my experiments with optics. I made this one back in the '60's with a Ricoh SLR Camera.

Sigridur Bachmann 03 Apr 2011

Such a great mood in this photograph !

Artist Reply: I'm glad you like it. I used the optical qualities of a mirror and a window to acheive this mood.
Artist Reply: I'm delighted!

Hi Karen! I think this is my favorite because it makes you stop and think about what it's about, what we are seeing and how it was made. Good job!

Artist Reply: I'm glad you like it. I took this photograph of myself just outside of a barbershop, using the wall-to-wall mirror and was intrigued by th special effect, so I named it VISIONS. The original title was MEMORIES.
Artist Reply: Thank you. I thought it would stimulate some thought. The original title was MEMORIES, but I later changed it to VISIONS.
Artist Reply: I'm glad you like my work. I think I'll view your portfolio again soon.

Now this is neat! I love all the crinkly effect!!! - ginger

Artist Reply: I'm glad you enjoy it. I was fascinated with the special effect I got as a result of taking this picture of myself from outside a barber shop, using their wall-to-wall mirror and I originally called it memories.
