The mermaids garden of Santa Clothilde

She is not able walking
and lives on the cliffs in Spain.
She comes down on a Turtle,
because she has a tail.

She lives there in a garden
and overlooks the sea.
That mermaid I discovered
by heart she is with me.

About 10 years ago I visited Loret del Mar in Spain.
I like the ocean, the wind and all thoughts and art
of mermaids came there to existence to me.
Years before I had seen the mermaid in Copenhagen.
It was a small statue of the little mermaid, out of
the story of Hans Christian Anderson.
Although the garden was closed I got access and
I did not believe my eyes in this garden of Eden.
I got curious how many mermaids there are
in the world, besides this beautiful garden of
Santa Clothilde. I am still searching and found
there are many stories, sages en legends of
that woman with a tail from over almost every
continent in the world.
I even found a tribe, which was offering a pig
to the Amazon river to make their goddess with
her tail happy, so they would catch enough fish
in the river and she would not attack them.
I do hope you enjoy this few words of history.

Ben

Oh I would love to visit there, what a dream place, nice photos.

Artist Reply: Santa Clothilde was and is my dream garden. I always loved the stories of ocean and mermaids. All over the world they have become history. Drachenfelz, the mermaid in Copenhagen, here in Holland where many buildings ware the wapen of mermaids in the Golden age, serenás in the amazones. This garden was like they came on shore and went from the stairs into the ocean on a turtle or a fish.

what an enchanting place,so green, very marvelous shots, love the top one.

Artist Reply: It was great Ruth. The garden was closed and when I told them my interest they let me in. Finaly they put on the fountains for me and imagine water flowing over these steps... It was pure beauty!
