Fantastic portrait & very handsome horse!

Artist Reply: Thank you Sue. You have a great touch with horses and dogs. Flo is evidence of your appreciation for anatomy and both of your Currachmore Cashel pieces are worthy of acclaim.

Hi Len - this is so beautiful it nearly brings tears to my eyes. I don't know how you manage such exquisite work in pastel. Just fantastic.

Artist Reply: Thank you Fiona - just lots of layers and Pan Pastels (ultra soft and put on with small sponge applicators) are real helpful. In this case to put on the final layers to give his coat the highlights (light grey and the deep brown under (red oxide extra dark). If you haven't tried them, do - they provide an entirely additional element - neat stuff.

awesome work Len!

Artist Reply: Hi Ruth, he is a hunk of horse and beautifully marked. He shares a barn with Distorted Humor and Bluegrass Cat (very nice digs). Three totally different heads - each magnificent and conveniently in one place. A real pleasure to work with such great "models".

Quite GRAND work, Beautiful,masterful.

Artist Reply: Thanks Deborah, as you know, I really like your photography (Streamer); but, I would truly like to see more of your fine art. The appaloosa head study (in a medium that do not have the courage to try) is nothing short of fanastic. Please put the camera down for a spell and do more of these equine works - you have a gift.

Wow...this is outstanding! Great pastel work!

Artist Reply: Thank you Claude. It is a real treat getting to see these guys. The folks at WinStar are very accommodating (as is Three Chimneys and most of the others). Makes it a challenge to decide which Champion to do next and me anxious to take another trip to Lexington. My version of heaven.
