Artist Reply: I love animals and nature. This painting was inspired by a photo in a Texas Highways magazine. The photo was taken in the Fall somewhere in East Texas. I changed the composition to include the rain, the barely visible stream in the background and the lighting (to emphasize the fox). I am inspired by the Impressionists and their manipulation of light. This painting won me best in show at a local fair around 10 years ago.
