Gertrude Ashton Evans is a self-taught artist and began painting as a hobby during the early 1980's. She has numerous original works which she has made prints for framing, cards, picture magnets, etc. Most of her work has been of familiar themes and places; African American church life, children, animals,landscapes of places she has visited and african american themes.
