I'm fascinated with color! I love to paint objects from nature because of the infinite variety of colors to be found there. Nature has a limitless variety of abstract shapes, making it's forms ideal subject matter for me. I don't consider my self any one genre, as I find labels to be inherently limiting and art is infinite. I paint what calls to me, I paint what catches my eye in the hopes of letting others see what I see. As an artist, I'm also fascinated with the process of art, not just the end result. I believe that the creative process is inherent in human beings, a need that has found outlet from the cave paintings of the Neolithic to the contemporary art scene involving computer generated images. I have over the years transitioned from acrylics to oils. I liken oil painting to painting with gems. Oils have enhanced my fascination with color and form.
