©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 04/25/12. A mixed media painting based on an old sepia tone print I found printed on a calendar promoted by our Henderson County Historical Society. This is a picture of an early blacksmith (1880-1900) in the area. The blacksmith was James Marley. His mother was a Cherokke and midwife to the area. She lived to be 107. Gouache, acrylic, and sand on canvas. This work won first prize in a local art contest. I’m very proud of it.
