This is one of my small paintings (8 X 10) of Catalina Island ("26 MILES ACROSS THE SEA...SANTA CATALINA IS A WAIT'N FOR ME" off the Los Angeles coast). This is an above/below water scene of Avalon Bay featuring Garibaldi fish (a bright "gold fish" that grows to 12 in.), kelp and a sea urchin. I am a member of the Catalina Art Association and this painting was hanging in our gallery in the "Casino" building in the background. The gallery just closed after 50 years due to lack of sales -- a sad commentary on how this economy has affected art sales. Please take a look at my official website: www.hawaiiartplus.com Thank you for looking!

My "other" daughter lived and worked in the Sheriff's department for a couple of years. This is a lovely rendition of the area. Too bad about the gallery...is the Casino still open to the public??Sharon Gonzalez 12 Apr 2010
