William Byrd, a Texas Panhandle native, is a new talent in the world of art, but has been creating beauty in many things his whole life. In the past, he has been an accomplished musician and composer, singer, web developer, game programmer, graphic designer, personal chef, personal trainer and recently added oil painter to the list. William, a strong believer in organic and natural living, started a body cleanse at the end of September. During this time, he found spiritual inspiration to pick up an unused oil set that had been collecting dust after being purchased nearly four years ago. Without having any formal training in oils, William recalled watching his mother use oils to paint landscapes and still-life at the tender age of eight. He was captivated by the delicate process of blending colors and stored the memory in his subconscious until it burst through in his first series aptly titled, “A New Beginning.” William discovered the new-found creativity inside him and the passion he has been searching for in a new medium.
Each painting continues to be an ever-developing expression of personal style and experimentation. Feelings of tranquility and imagination are captured by the use of movement, pulsating energy and bold color patterns.
William has been composing and playing the piano since early childhood. While learning other instruments in his high school days, he also learned to read music which only enhanced his ability to compose. His music is a classical flavor that is relaxing and soothing. Many claim this music actually helps them fall asleep into a deep slumber. At first this was upsetting to William, but he finally realized his talent was in this genre. Soon he will be releasing “Soulful Rest”, his first official published work containing eight very relaxing and restful classical pieces featuring piano. William’s love for music and musical instruments has opened his eyes and spirit to learn many instruments throughout his life, but his main instruments are Piano, French Horn, Trumpet and Guitar.
