Lance Von Prum has been painting watercolors for nearly forty years and has well over a hundred paintings hanging in homes and businesses across America. His natural ability was augmented by two instructors at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA who taught Lance how to really "see" his subject. His rendering of chrome and reflections make custom and classic cars a natural subject but portrait painting has become his true passion. His portraits seem to capture the personality, the essence of the subject.
He works from his home studio in Fredericksburg, Texas, painting from photographs that he has taken or provided by his clients. He uses primarily Winsor and Newton watercolor paints and 300 pound Arches hot pressed paper. Although just a hobby for many years he now successfully pursues his painting full time. He not only enjoys the excitement of watching faces come to life on paper but continually exceeding his clients' expectations. He says that portraits make fabulous birthday, anniversary and special occasion gifts and become instant heirlooms.
