Tatyana Shurtz is a self-taught artist, originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, who came to the USA in 1998. Passionately painting with oils for the past 10 years Tatyana spends her days in her studio at the Rail Walk Studios & Gallery in Salisbury. Tatyana is fully involved with the process of creating her artwork. She builds her own frames, stretches canvases and linens by hand, experiments with different types of gesso and tries different types of painting techniques. Recently Tatyana took a deep interest in political, surrealistic and fantastical themes for her creative outlet.
