Prior to April this year (2007) I had never done any painting but I decided to join the art group at the People's Gallery in Stalybridge and try to do something different! Gordon Clegg runs the group and he is a fantastic portrait artist (look at his website) so I got interested in portraits of both people and animals. The art group at the People's Gallery is great: a glass of wine in one hand, a paintbrush in the other and a lot of laughter together with help from Gordon has really given me a lot of enthusiasm for painting. I've now retired from work so I hope to be able to spend more time painting - if my grandchildren will let me!!
