Hails from Oregon! Updated: September, 2010

Hello everyone. I first joined Artwanted in 2003 and have been here off and on since.

So very much has changed for me. In my artistic adventures, I have tried many things. I started out with various 'pop' genres such as anime/manga/game art, T-shirt airbrushing, painting feathers with Indian-themed artwork, beading, rendering flowers with acrylics, watercolors, or digital mediums, and even tried glass carving.

Now that I'm almost going to be 40, I have found something in life that has brought me more joy, satisfactions, and fulfillment than anything I have ever tried before, and that is soap crafting!

Right now, I am only working with the 'Melt n' Pour' soap base. You melt it, add color and scent, then mold, unmold, and done. While this is regrettably not so original, I am looking forward to finding my own artistic spin in this medium, and so far I have been able to pull off anything I have put my mind to.

I would love to expand my soap endeavors to making traditional soap with lye. I have seen so many exquisite soaps online that I can help but want to try it myself. Especially since I have learned the hard way that commercial soaps are damaging to the skin. Either instantly or over a period of time.

The very first time I used one of my home-made soaps in the shower, I felt the difference from the commercial brands I've been using, and all but eliminated the need to use body lotion after I bathe.

Perhaps it's strange to you to think of soap as an art form, but believe me, it certainly can be. From the ones designed for aromatherapy, to soaps that look like foods, and even to soaps that are carved into lovely flowers than more. This is my art world now.

I have not forgotten or stopped my other forms of artwork, however. [Who could?] but I hope you enjoy the pictures of my soaps that I will be displaying in my gallery in the future.

Take care, and more art to you.
