I can't remember a time when I didn't have the desire to draw or paint. As a self-taught artist, I started developing my craft at age 9 when I did my first oil painting of my 2- year old sister, Cathy. I especially love depicting children with animals. I also enjoy drawing Western themes.
Although I work from photos, I feel that I am able to capture the spirit and personality of my subjects. I am a member of the American Society of Portrait artists (ASOPA). My achievements include numerous awards, five purchase awards and an inclusion in The Illustrator Magazine and Southwestern Artist.
My portraits are done primarily in pencil, my favorite medium, as I am able to develop more precise details and sharpness unattainable through other mediums. I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to email me with suggestions, comments or questions.
