Originally born and raised in New York City, in the 1970s and 80sbCharlie Sands spent most of his youth exploring the night life of the city. Growing up surrounded by jazz greats such as Art Blakey and Clifford Jordan, music became a major influence on his art. Choosing a non conventional path in life, Charlie sought out the every day life. From Cafe scenes, bars and clubs to the street scenes. Spending his 20s traveling the veins and arteries of the continental United States and the Caribbean as a vagabond while painting along the way.
Charlie has now settled down in Connecticutfor the moment to raise his 2 children.
