. Recipient of National and International awards; One woman shows invited and sponsored on landmark occasions within India, Japan (Sep 2002 for the 50th anniversary of India-Japan diplomatic relations), Singapore and recently (June 2004)in San Francisco,USA for the 150th anniversary of US-Japan Relations. Her paintings are eco- friendly, ethnic Indian created with the Japanese brush. Medium: NIHONGA, which involves the use of mineral pigments, layered upon by brush -substrate- on handmade paper,using glue and water. Some 1500 natural pigments are available. Rock pigments are derived from natural minerals, shells, corals and even semi precious stones like the garnets and pearls. Sometimes gold and silver are also used.
